Filigree inlay, also known as fine gold art, combines two techniques of "filigree" and "inlay". They were once mainly used in royal accessories and as decoration for sophisticated crafts. Filigreeing uses gold, silver and copper filaments as raw materials and employs techniques such as nipping, knitting and welding.
