The “Hurrian Hymn No. 6” is considered the oldest known piece of music, dating back to approximately the 13th century BC. It was discovered in Ugarit, a city-state in ancient Syria, and is written in the Hurrian language. The hymn was found inscribed on a clay tablet along with musical notation. Canadian musician Peter Pringle has performed a rendition of this ancient piece, providing a modern interpretation of how it might have sounded. | History In Pictures
