May 27, 2009 · Re: v8 into a Pinto Once upon a time I helped build a Pinto. It was a mild street car at first and ended up running Super Gas in the mid-80's. I remember using some Mustang II parts for the first Windsor motor, but after the tube chassis, we just used a plate to put a Cleveland and a Powerglide in. I also think Hooker made a kit for it once.

Mar 18, 2020 · A V8 Pinto always sounds like a fun prospect. Small, short, light on it’s feet and capable of swallowing up the small-block Ford, a swapped Pinto is a no-brainer for a fun car to mess around with. It might not be a Gapp and Roush car, but a 302 in Ford’s little rear-wheel-drive hatchback is an enticing proposition.

Jan 22, 2004 · You can buy the "Complete V8 Pinto Engine Swap Manual," which is a home-published manual by a guy named Randy Young in Texas. He sells it on Ebay for $8.00--in fact, there's one for sale on there right now (6:30 PM EST)--and it's got lots of very useful info for the swap. Good luck--I'm building a V-8 Pinto myself.

Feb 20, 2008 · I wanted something for both the street and the strip, and something that would turn some heads (as if a rumbling V8 Pinto in itself isn't enough!). First, I wanted to swap the whole 79-80 front end of the car with the earlier 71-73 style. Next was to lose the giant bumpers.
