May 24, 2017 · I am in the process of putting a 4 cyl. Pinto engine into my M-38. It came to me with out an engine, radiator or the original motor mounts on the frame. The fire wall was hacked 2 to 3". I am wondering how many Jeeps have the Pinto conversion? My contact at Novak said they sell two to three conversion kits for this swap a year now.

Oct 17, 2019 · The ford rangers used a fuel injected 2300 and 2500 derived from the pinto for a long while into the 2000s. They are pretty good in stock form and I considered one in my CJ5 but after reviewing costs the 4.3 was ahead mostly because I wanted something to pull a trailer on the local highway and plow snow in the winter.

Apr 17, 2010 · Thanks for the advice. I'll have to measure and see what size hole was on the old Pinto bellhousing that was installed previously. The way my jeep was built by the PO, he used a t-90 with pinto engine and bellhousing. The clutch pressure plate was also from a Pinto but the clutch disc is cj2a.

Nov 18, 2017 · I needed an engine for this project, no flat heads were available and the pinto came in the car for $100. The 350 Chevy had destroyed the T90A so I refreshed it with all new bearings and T90C gears. After I got started on the Pinto engine I was made aware of four flat heads in a garage in a near by town.

Jun 8, 2015 · Madman, I've got a 2.0 Ford engine in my Blue Mule. It is not fuel injected, it's carburated. I used the Ford bell housing and clutch. In order to not cut into the floor pan to clear the block, I moved the transmission and transfer case forward about 3 inches. I did have to make some cuts to allow the shifters to move forward.

May 20, 2009 · Ford Pinto 2300. These where good old swaps. There is also a fuel injected turbocharged version :) 1.9 VW TDI engine with a Mechanical Pump conversion. I think this would be GREAT! It would get 30mpg or more.....100-150hp is pretty easy....fuel injected performance without the electronics. 1300cc suzuki sprint engine.

Nov 20, 2005 · Does anyone have info on the 2000cc or 2300cc Pinto engine swap into a CJ2A? I have seen the Novak adapters website, but need some more detail. Has anyone performed this swap? At my altitude, my flathead is really down in power, but I don't want to go over the Buick V-6, and the Ol' Pinto swap seems a good idea.
