May 5, 2005 · I have a 1980 fairmont futura with 521 crate motor,C4 trans,moser 9 inch.Easy to do w/c4 (c6 will need tunnel massage). 6 cross member will not work. Use 4,v8 or tube.lot's of parts out there to make it easy. i have had mine together for 8.5 years. not tubbed. D&D tube front,11 inch mustang rotors/caliber,QA1 coil over.

Mar 4, 2021 · Nope, straight 6 is unique to itself. all other engines use another crossmember. So how serious are you about drag racing this Fairmont? If I was to do it over again, a stroker 351W block, WP alum heads, about a 393 CI, beefed up C-4 and 9". Edel Pref RPM, Holley 750 carb. I used the BBK strunt adjusting plates also.

Aug 2, 2005 · left side ranger ,right side aerostar. axles are different length.4.0 ranger uses 10 inch drums ,get um off 4cyl,or 3.0 v6 ranger they are 9 inch, stang uses 9 inch .some lincon and mercury use 5 lug disks up front,problem is with nose of disk where small bearing is. some wheels will fit some wont.problem is center cap area.its too long on linkon & mercury disks ,shorter on stang disk.ford ...

Also a Mustang tank fits in the Fairmont/Zephyr so if you cant find a sending unit from here Rebuilt Fuel Sending Unit Specialist then the other option would be to install a Mustang tank/pickup assembly. Be advised however that up to about 1985, the sending unit has a different resistance than the post-1985 models did.

Jan 9, 2007 · I've heard of people modifying the 6 cyl. to fit a V8 but imo its not worth it, there are tons of these cars at salvage yards (the secret to building one is now out) you could just snag a 4cyl. or V8 subframe from a Fairmont or a Fox body Mustang. I went with the D&D tubular Mustang setup to mine.

My quetions is will the 302 and trans fit in a 76-88 4-door fairmont v6 auto, and if so how hard is the swap; and do they make any performance parts for the fairmont "like suspension?"

Sep 11, 2006 · The Fairmont was totalled and the driver spent quite a bit of time in the hospital, and then went on to a LOT of therapy afterwards. It is my understanding that he still is not 100% 2 1/2 years later. Interestingly enough, Bob Glidden won a LOT of races in a Fairmont Futura.
