Matt Vierling snapped a 1-1 tie with a single in the eighth inning as the Tigers beat the Rangers to end a 6-game losing streak.

It was naturally a superb start by Tarik Skubal that resulted in a 2-1 Detroit Tigers win over the Texas Rangers on Sunday night that ended a season-worst six-game losing streak for the team with the best record in the major leagues.

And one bold suggestion comes from former center fielder Cameron Maybin, who thinks Tigers starter Tarik Skubal could end up the Bronx. Maybin made the argument in a series of posts on his X account.

Skubal shook off a bumpy All-Star appearance and pitched another gem, racking up 11 strikeouts in 6 2/3 scoreless innings. However, he'd gotten into some trouble in the seventh, when Adolis García doubled and Kyle Higashioka singled to put runners on the corners.
