Saks Global announced at the end of last year that it had completed the acquisition of Neiman Marcus in a deal valued at about $2.7 billion. The tie-up could help the department stores as they look for new ways to keep and attract customers for luxury items while improving operations.

The company in July also downsized operations in anticipation of the $2.7 billion acquisition, which closed at the end of last year.

Meanwhile, Dallas civic leaders have united to urge Saks Global to resolve a land lease issue the retailer says is forcing Neiman's downtown Dallas store to close.
