But Auburn won again. And Duke looked awesome again. So it ended up being a day to highlight the sport's two best teams led by the sport's two best players -- namely Auburn's Johni Broome and Duke's Cooper Flagg.

This season marks the seventh year the NET rankings are used as the primary metric for assessing college basketball teams when it comes to NCAA Tournament selection and seeding. The NET takes into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, net offensive and defensive efficiency, as well as quality of wins and losses.

The Arizona Wildcats missed an opportunity to pick up their ninth "quality win" of the season on Saturday night, which would have put them in select company. But Arizona's controversial 96-95 Big 12 loss to BYU did not hurt them in the only national college basketball rankings that matter.

The NCAA Tournament selection committee revealed its top 16 seeds for the first time Sunday, and within hours, three of the top eight teams lost. That was in addition to UCLA — the top overall seed — losing Thursday, but still retaining its place on the 1-line.
