Jonah Heim hit a looping fly ball that dropped between two fielders in shallow left field, scoring Wyatt Langford from first base, and the Texas Rangers beat the Athletics 2-1 on Wednesday night for a sweep.

To make room for Gray on the 40-man roster, the Rangers designated Luke Jackson for assignment. Though he’d pitched well lately, Jackson had a 4.11 ERA, highest of any of the leverage relievers. Long man Caleb Boushley is now the only reliever with an ERA above four.

Texas Rangers righty Jon Gray was activated from the injured list Wednesday after being out since getting struck by a line drive that fractured his right forearm during a spring training game in mid-March.
