Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will serve another term on the bipartisan council of governors tasked with enhancing collaboration with the federal government.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been selected by President Donald Trump to continue serving as one of 10 governors on the Council of Governors.

President Donald Trump reappointed Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the Council of Governors Wednesday, making her the longest-serving member of the council. The Council of Governors is a group of 10 governors—five Democrats and five Republicans—that work closely with the cabinet and federal agencies as representatives of all governors in the nation.

Whitmer will be one of 10 governors on the council — five from the Republican Party and five from the Democratic Party.
