ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Zoo is excited to announce the arrival of three lions from the Fort Worth Zoo. One male and two female lions temporarily relocated from Fort Worth to Abilene.

The Abilene Zoo has participated in this program for a number of years, and it has helped to bring two-toed sloth Marvin to the Abilene Zoo in hopes he will mate with resident two-toed sloth Sadie.

The Abilene Zoo welcomes the return of bison after their removal in 2011. The first bison reintroduced, Uno, was donated by the Weilert family and is viewable to the public.
