Stellantis said it would end efforts to develop hydrogen vehicles as it focuses its resources on electric cars and hybrids to meet EU’s tougher emissions standards.

Stellantis has decided to cease its hydrogen fuel cell program, scrapping plans for hydrogen-powered vehicles this year. The move raises concerns for subsidiary Symbio due to limited hydrogen infrastructure and high costs.

Carmaker Stellantis , said on Wednesday it would discontinue its hydrogen fuel cell technology development programme and cancel the planned launch of hydrogen vehicles.
