The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee has effectively barred transgender women from competing in women's sports, telling sports governing bodies it has an "obligation to comply" with federal policy.

The US Olympic & Paralympic Committee said national sport governing bodies have an obligation to comply with an executive order signed by President Donald Trump which bids to exclude transgender girls

The U.S. Olympic committee said in its new policy that it was “committed to protecting opportunities for athletes participating in sport."
