Secret Service agent Clint Hill was trailing the presidential motorcade in Dallas, Texas, when shots were fired and he jumped onto the back of the car to protect President John F. Kennedy and first lady Jaqueline Kennedy.

Clint Hill, the Secret Service agent who was seen jumping onto the back of a limousine carrying President John F. Kennedy after he was assassinated in Dallas in 1963, has died. Hill died Friday at his home in California at the age of 93.

A Secret Service agent, he leaped onto the president’s limousine in Dallas in 1963 and was credited with saving the first lady’s life. But he was haunted by his inability to save her husband.
