A fire has forced a popular Malaysian restaurant in Philadelphia's Bella Vista neighborhood to close temporarily. Kampar, on 7th Street, just below South Street, caught fire Saturday morning. A post on social media says the restaurant's bar is destroyed.
Fire officials said a woman died after a fire broke out on the 600 block of Kimball Street early Sunday morning.
Assistant Fire Chief Charles Walker noted that the home did not have any smoke detectors and encouraged Philly residents to call 311 to get them for free.
