Despite parting ways with multiple veterans this offseason, the Utah Jazz reportedly aren't planning to move on from star forward Lauri Markkanen.

The San Antonio Spurs and the Utah Jazz needed an extra period to decide the winner in their NBA Summer League faceoff on Monday.

"The Utah Jazz start the 2025-26 campaign with the lowest win total (18.5) in the league. It marks the lowest NBA preseason over/under since the Philadelphia 76ers had a preseason win total of 15 in 2014-15," wrote Shane Jackson of BetMGM.

The Jazz have to be proactive in upping the talent base of their team, which could lead them to the pursuit of this young forward via trade.

In 1984, Layden was named the NBA’s Coach of the Year and the NBA’s Executive of the Year as the Jazz finished first in the Midwest Division. That year, he drafted the NBA’s all-time assist and steal leader, John Stockton; Layden drafted the league’s third-place all-time scorer, Karl Malone, the very next year.
