The National Hurricane Center say they are monitoring a broad area of low pressure in the tropics which has a low chance of development over the next week.

This weekend will be a bit of a mixed bag with muggy air and a few storms on Saturday, followed by the start of a heat wave on Sunday.

As the peak months of the Atlantic hurricane season quickly approach, conditions for tropical development become more likely.
