Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs gave up $500,000 of his $9 million salary in 2025 after failing to be available for over 84 percent of the team's offseason program as he rehabilitates from the cartilage issue that ended his 2024 campaign.

And so, in lieu of cornerback Trevon Diggs giving up the ability to make $500,000 more, the team was able to reduce his salary by $500,000 because he didn’t. “ No, I didn’t expect that ,” Diggs told reporters on Tuesday when asked for his reaction to the move. “That kind of hurt my feelings. But it’s OK. Hopefully, I’ll make it back in incentives.”
Trevon Diggs was aware of the de-escalator clause in his contract that called for his base salary to be reduced by $500,000 if he did not participate in 84% of the offseason program, but it still caught him off guard when the Cowboys enforced it.
