Fifa decided that the new format should mimic the international World Cup, staged every four years with teams from all over the globe. The next tournament will therefore take place in the summer of 2029, scheduled for sometime in June and July.

Despite winning this year's edition, Chelsea haven't secured their ticket to the next edition of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2029, unlike other teams. The FIFA Club World Cup 2025, hosted in the United States,

Chelsea took the cup home against PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup Final on July 14. Apart from the on-ground action, the Halftime Show had multiple performances lined up for the audience.

FIFA sought to name a global champion of club football by establishing the Club World Cup at the start of the 21st century. The Intercontinental Cup had been running since 1960, but only teams from Europe and South America were involved. FIFA wanted something grander.

But in 2025, one Argentine midfielder carved his name into history, becoming the only active player to win both the FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
