City of Dallas leaders are holding a press conference Tuesday morning to discuss the looming closure of the Downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus location.

Saks Global announced the Dallas flagship Neiman Marcus store will close on March 31 claiming the building landlord forced the closure.

The news comes less than a year after Neiman Marcus’ merger with Saks Fifth Avenue and shortly after the announcement of the closing of their CityPlace offices.

The company announced a $100 million investment into the location at NorthPark Center.

In 2022, the retailer received $5.25M in city incentives to build its offices at CityPlace Tower and stay in Dallas. It is not yet clear what becomes of those funds.

Nearly 120 years after its opening, the luxury department store’s historic Dallas headquarters is shuttering, Saks Global, the new owner of Neiman Marcus, revealed in a statement. The headquarters will be closing its doors for good on March 31.

The closing of the downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus is not a reflection of business performance, the company said; the landlord terminated the store's lease.
