For most of the season, Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid has dealt with injury problems, largely in his knee. So far, he has only appeared in 19 games for the team.

It’s time for Philadelphia to shut Embiid and any other injured player down for an extended stretch (Paul George has admitted he is playing through pain, as is Kyle Lowry, among others). It’s time for the 76ers to let go of the rope this season and focus on the next one.

The Sixers need to start thinking about what life might look like if Joel Embiid never resembles his MVP self again.
