ROCKPORT, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas State Police are investigating a deadly Sunday afternoon shooting. According to a release from the ASP, officials with the Rockport Police Department requested their involvement after being called to a shooting in the 1700 block of Division Street at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Members of the Arkansas Army National Guard have been assisting those faced with travel issues during the winter storm.

As crews in some counties and cities respond to the winter weather, so are the Arkansas National Guardsmen who were mobilized this week to help stranded drivers.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders mobilized 140 guardsmen on Tuesday to staff 28 winter weather response teams. They will assist Arkansas State Police in transporting stranded motorists to safe areas.
