Trump administration officials terminated four FEMA officials and then took back millions in reimbursement funds meant to house migrants.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday that it fired four Federal Emergency Management Agency officials over payments provided to New York City to house migrants, arguing without evidence that the officials circumvented leadership.

The funding was clawed back as New York City denies allegations by tech billionaire Elon Musk the money was going toward “luxury” hotel lodging for migrants.

The program uses Customs and Border Protection funding and is managed by FEMA. It does not use money from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund.

The Department of Homeland Security told Fox News that “Four employees are being fired today for circumventing leadership and unilaterally making the egregious payment for hotels for migrants in New York City.
