Weekend weather on Long Island is expected to be dry and cool, followed by a warmup early in the week, according to the National Weather Service. The weekend is predicted to be mostly sunny, with highs moving from the high 30s on Saturday to the lower 40s Sunday. Wind chill values will be below freezing.
The National Weather Service said Thursday will have a high of 30 and a low of 21, but wind chills will make it feel like 10 to 15 degrees.
Winds were certainly strong Sunday, Feb. 16 in southeast New York, with some gusts exceeding 60 mph, the NWS reported.
