Des Moines police said the stolen dog was safely rescued in Cedar Rapids, and has been returned to the care of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. Staff with the ARL gave the dog the name Dionysus. The dog was limping but in good spirits. Staff say the dog will be undergoing further medical treatment.
