A man is dead after a shooting near the Circle K off Carowinds Boulevard in York County early Monday morning, deputies said.The York County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 9′s Eli Brand deputies worked with multiple police agencies to track the suspected shooter down.

YORK CO., SC – The York County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting near the Circle K off Carowinds Boulevard. The shooting happened around 5:30am on Monday. Investigators found a man who had been shot and say first responders tried to save his life, but he died.

The shooting happened before 6 a.m. The victim died after being taken away for treatment, York County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris said. The area is close to I-77 Exit 90 near the North Carolina state line behind a Circle K gas station off Carowinds Boulevard.
