The Boston Red Sox will have to make some tough decisions if they want to keep Alex Bregman and still address other needs on their roster this offseason.

Since going down with his quad injury, news has surfaced that Bregman would consider signing an extension or a new contract with the Red Sox before the end of the season. The New York Post's Jon Heyman reported that "both sides wouldn't mind getting something done," though discussions haven't yet been held.

The Hendriks situation came shortly after Bregman’s former teammate, Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers, found himself in a similar incident. Houston police announced in June that they identified an overseas bettor who threatened McCullers when inebriated.
