Michael Parker named suspect in Lorain ambush shooting that killed 1 officer, injured 2 others
The suspect — Michael Parker, 28, of Lorain — was pronounced dead at the scene after the shooting. According to the Elyria Police Department, officers returned fire during the exchange, which ultimately resulted in Parker sustaining a fatal injury.
Officials have announced that the memorial service for Lorain Police Department Officer Phillip C. Wagner, who was killed during an ambush, will take place July 30 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.

Investigators are still looking for a possible motive surrounding Wednesday’s shooting of three Lorain police officers. They say the explosives found inside the suspect’s car has them wondering if this was all part of a bigger plan.
Wagner died Thursday after being shot in an ambush attack. Two other officers were wounded, with one suffering serious injuries.
