Damian Lillard is returning to his former home after becoming an unexpected free agent last week. The point guard has agreed to a three-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers worth $42 million according to Shams Charania of ESPN.com.
To that end, a new update has been revealed about Boston's rumored pursuit of Lillard. According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Tatum has been actively recruiting Lillard to the Celtics.
Lillard spent the first 11 seasons of his NBA career with the Trail Blazers before requesting a trade in 2023. The Trail Blazers ultimately sent the Oakland native to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he spent the last two years of his career. Milwaukee waived him after he suffered an Achilles injury to sign Myles Turner.
