Kansas, a team that had hit double-digit 3-point shots in just one Big 12 Conference game all season, swished a season-best 14 treys on 30 attempts in the Jayhawks’ 96-64 rout of Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse.

The Tulsa World reported Friday that Bill Self's alma mater made a run at the Kansas men's basketball coach in the offseason.

Kansas’ defense, the same one that allowed 91 points on 51.5% shooting and was torched for 14 3s on 36 attempts in Tuesday’s 34-point loss to BYU, actually entered the Big 12 men’s basketball battle as one of the country’s top units on that end.

Kansas 52, Oklahoma State 23. There were 55 seconds left in the first half. Dickinson’s dunk capped a 21-2 run. The arena’s atmosphere was as loud — and positive — as it had been in weeks. No. 23 Kansas dominated Oklahoma State 96-64 on Saturday afternoon.

Oklahoma State’s coaching search nearly ended with a splash in 2024. On Friday, the Tulsa World’s Berry Tramel reported that OSU basketball’s search for Mike Boynton’s replacement was held up for a bit because of the potential for a former Cowboy to come home.

It’s hard to imagine head coach Bill Self at the helm of any college basketball program other than Kansas. The two-time national champion has led the Jayhawks since 2003 and has maintained the pedigree of one of the winningest programs in the sport.
