Manning played one snap during Texas’ loss against Ohio State in January’s Cotton Bowl. On a fourth-and-one late in the second quarter, he ran for eight yards to give the Longhorns a first down.

The playbook is open for Arch Manning as he takes over the Texas football offense, Steve Sarkisian said Tuesday. After coaching Manning through two starts in 2024 and spending more than 30 months teaching him the scheme, Sarkisian feels comfortable opening the volume cover-to-cover when Manning steps under center against Ohio State on Aug. 30.
