Much like the Ford GT supercar that came before it, the Ford Mustang GTD is being sold with a big caveat. The automaker has confirmed new owners must agree not to sell their car within the first two years of ownership. This sort of rule is meant to prevent Ford's new mega-Mustang from being immediately flipped for a massive profit.

EPA documents state the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD will arrive with a curb weight of 4343 pounds. That's only 171 lbs less than a Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody.

News of the policy being enforced on the Mustang GTD emerged late last week and was soon confirmed by Ford. Much like the GT, those fortunate owners of the Mustang GTD must “agree to confidential terms and conditions that include a commitment to maintain ownership for two years.”

Ford's GTD monster Mustang isn't just a performance heavyweight; it's going to be an actual heavyweight. EPA documents show that the new fastest Mustang is going to be a lot heftier than we expected from any pony car.
