There have been plenty of all-time great big men to play in the NBA, but nobody has a skillset and frame like Wembanyama. When asked about who he looks at in terms of big men for studying how they play, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal's son, Shareef O'Neal, told Spurs On SI why he looks toward Wembanyama in today's rapidly changing game.
San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama said he is “officially cleared to return” from the deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder that cut his 2024-25 season short, according to an interview with the French newspaper L’Équipe. Wembanyama’s clearance was confirmed by a team source Tuesday.
The San Antonio Spurs have one of the very best young cores in the NBA. Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, Carter Bryant, Jeremy Sochan, and Devin Vassell are all immensely talented, although the Spurs' long-term success starts and ends with Victor Wembanyama.
In doing so Wemby would join an elite group that includes Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki and, of course, Tim Duncan.
