Ryan Clark says that Dustin Poirier is the fighting spirit of Louisiana and that if he wins the BMF title, it should be retired in his honor.

Another opponent on Poirier's UFC resume, however, is former "BMF" champion Justin Gaethje. Unlike Holloway, both men are 1-1, with Gaethje having won the latter fight at UFC 291 with an emphatic head-kick KO in July 2023.

On Saturday night, the fan-favorite UFC BMF title will once again be up for grabs. The belt that has no specific weight class is currently held by featherweight great Max Holloway, and will be defended at lightweight against division legend Dustin Poirier.

This weekend’s UFC 318 card in New Orleans, Louisiana, is going to be a banger. The BMF Title is on the line in the main event between champion Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier (No. 6). Three additional ranked bouts accompany this title fight.
