The lone previously unknown name of note who committed to the tournament ahead of Friday’s deadline was Adam Scott. The former Masters champion decided to make his first ever trip to TPC Twin Cities after firing a second-round 79 at The Open on Friday to miss the cut.
Leishman sat on the couch for ten consecutive majors after joining LIV Golf in 2022, but returned to the showpiece events after coming through qualifying at last month’s US Open and earning his place at Royal Portrush with a top three finish at last year’s Australian Open.

Scott has competed in 96 consecutive major tournaments. The 153rd Open Championship will mark his 97th consecutive major, an impressive and rare feat. In the video he shared, he was captured taking shots on the grounds at Royal Portrush. He wrote in the caption,
The 2013 Masters champion, who played in the last group in the final round of last month’s US Open, shot a three-over par front nine courtesy of a double bogey at the par 3 third and a bogey at the ninth, before making two more double bogeys, at the 11th and 16th to derail his day.
