More Oklahomans are jumping to action to help neighboring states recover from deadly flooding, and it's not just in central Texas.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) - Oklahoma is sending additional resources to Texas and New Mexico following floods in the both states.

Flooding is the deadliest natural disaster facing Oklahomans, a threat far greater than tornadoes. In the United States, flooding kills an average of 103 people a year. Tornadoes, however, caused 48 deaths on average during the same period, according to the National Weather Service.

Oklahoma City sends a team to aid Texas in flood response efforts through the EMAC agreement, ensuring swift water rescue capabilities.
