The Lorain County Coroner's Office has identified the suspect involved in the ambush shooting that left three Lorain police officers wounded on Wednesday. The suspect, Michael Parker, 28, of Lorain, was pronounced dead at the scene after the shooting.

L ORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) - Investigators say shooting suspect Michael Joseph Parker, 28, of North Lakeview Boulevard, in Lorain was found with multiple high-powered rifles, handguns and large amounts of an explosive called Tannerite.

LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) — A man accused of ambushing three local officers has been identified as 28-year-old Michael Parker, according to the Lorain County coroner. Meanwhile, the three officers who were shot remain hospitalized, with two in serious condition.

The gunman accused of ambushing three Lorain police officers had previously been cited by the officer killed following a 2022 crash.

Lorain Police Officer Brent Payne, who was shot in Lorain while on a lunch break with fellow officers, was released from the hospital on Saturday.
