Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed the strategic game plan behind setting The Fantastic Four: First Steps on an alternate Earth, providing the clearest road map yet for the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.
The reboot will unify the MCU into a singular timeline, allowing Marvel to recast legacy characters like Iron Man and Captain America. Feige compared the process to other iconic franchises: “They’re looking for a new James Bond. David Corenswet is the new Superman, and he’s been incredible. That’s always how it works”.

After the conclusion of Marvel's Secret Wars in 2027, the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it will be forever changed. "Reboot is a scary word,” Marvel boss Kevin Feige told Variety in a massive new interview.
"As we as we kick off phase six with with 'Fantastic Four,' and as everybody knows it ends with 'Secret Wars,'" Feige said.
