The Los Angeles Lakers might have a new incentive for emptying their asset collection and giving their roster as many win-now resources as they can.

LeBron James is expected to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers despite being in NBA trade rumors. James, the leading scorer in NBA history, hasn’t had trade or buyout discussions with the Lakers, according to Joe Vardon and Dan Woike of The Athletic.

"Yeah, we want him to play on the ball," Lakers assistant and Vegas Summer League coach Lindsay Harding said, according to Brad Turner of The Los Angeles Times. "Especially in tight moments, I like the ball in his hands and I want him to make those decisions."
