The first film in the newly-rebranded DC Universe has already surpassed the lifetime grosses of six out of the company's 10 most recent films.

James Gunn’s Superman has kickstarted the DC Universe aka DCU with a bang at the US as well as the global box office. The film starring David Corenswet in the titular role hit an estimated $122 million at the US box office in its opening weekend and $217 million at the worldwide box office.
