Congressional Republicans are launching into their next big legislative fight – this time over DOGE spending cuts for foreign aid and public broadcasting – that risks the wrath of President Donald Trump if they fail.

The president is threatening to withhold his endorsement from Republican senators who oppose the $9.4 billion package of cuts.

WASHINGTON – Both Louisiana senators support the elimination of federal funds for public broadcasting, which is at the center of a controversial budget bill the U.S. Senate began considering Tuesday.
