LeMahieu, who turns 37 on Sunday, was designated for assignment and fellow infielder Jorbit Vivas was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The New York Yankees on Wednesday designated veteran infielder DJ LeMahieu for assignment. The move almost certainly brings an end to LeMahieu's tenure with the team for which he's played since the start of the 2019 season.

The New York Yankees are moving on from DJ LeMahieu after nearly seven years with the team. According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the Yankees have designated LeMahieu for assignment with $22 million left on his contract.
