"We were excited watching (Phillips) and I know Coach (Anthony) Weaver was the first one who came to us," General Manager Chris Grier said of Phillips. "He's 20 years old, has an unbelievable love for football, so we do think there's some things we can unlock with him."

The Dolphins did well in their first season under Weaver. The defense finished No. 4 in the NFL. The question this year is whether Weaver can do it again after the departures of key players.

There’s a decent chance the Dolphins will need Wilson at some point during the 2025 season. And he better play well since Grier and McDaniel chose him over other available veteran quarterbacks.

Zach Sieler, claimed off waivers in 2019, has become a key player for the Miami Dolphins. Sieler, a two-time team MVP, has recorded 20 sacks over the past two seasons, a franchise record for a defensive tackle.
